Marbury V. Madison is a famous case in the history of law world wide. It was responsible for the exercise of the judicial review in the United States.
The case resulted from a petition by William Marbury. He petitioned the surpreme court to deliver documents, but the denied. The Court instead held that the provision of the Judiciary act of 1789 that said enabling Marbury to bring his claim to the Supreme Court was unconstitutional.
